ROSEMEAD, Calif., April 26, 2007 – Edison International (NYSE:EIX) and its subsidiary Southern California Edison today announced that Vanessa C.L. Chang has been elected to both boards of directors, effective today.
“We are pleased to welcome Vanessa Chang,” said John E. Bryson, chairman of Edison International. “She brings deep experience in accounting, audit and corporate finance. In addition to her outstanding career, she has served with distinction on several boards.”
Chang served for 21 years at the international accounting firm KPMG Peat Marwick, LLP, in a variety of increasingly responsible management roles at the Los Angeles practice, including partner in charge of corporate finance.
Chang is a member of the board of directors and chairs the audit committees of three equity mutual funds in the American Funds family, which is managed by Capital Research and Management Company. She is also a member of the board of directors of Forest Lawn Memorial-Parks Association and Blue Shield of California.
Chang serves on the board of trustees at Claremont Graduate University and the Governing Council of the Independent Directors Council, affiliated with the Investment Company Institute. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Chang earned a bachelors degree in accounting at the University of British Columbia and is a certified public accountant.
