ROSEMEAD Calif.,  Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001-The Edison International (EIX) Board of Directors elected Theodore (Ted) F. Craver, Jr., 50, as Executive Vice President of EIX, effective Jan. 1, 2002.

In announcing the appointment, EIX Chairman, President and CEO John E. Bryson noted,  "Ted Craver has consistently demonstrated world class abilities as a CFO.  He brings keen intelligence, intense focus and rigorous financial and risk management discipline to our company.  His leadership in managing responses to the financial crisis in the past year has been extraordinary."

Craver, who has been with the company since 1996, currently serves EIX as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer.  Before joining Edison, Craver served as Executive Vice President and Corporate Treasurer of First Interstate Bancorp from 1991 to 1996.  In this role, he was responsible for the treasury function, corporate development and sales and trading of investment and insurance products.
