ROSEMEAD, Calif., Feb. 24, 2012 – Southern California Edison (SCE) is conducting a request for offers (RFO) of transmission to bring a portion of the energy from the Caithness Shepards Flat Wind Project to California.

SCE launched its transmission RFO to purchase firm transmission rights to deliver the energy across the following delivery paths:  John Day to COB, Big Eddy to NOB and NOB to Mead. Transactions pursuant to SCE’s RFO will be resale agreements for the balance of the 2012 year, starting April 1, 2012, or the May through September period.

SCE is procuring this transaction to manage the output from the Caithness wind facility, for which SCE is the contracted off-taker pursuant to a 20-year power purchase agreement.
