ROSEMEAD, Calif., December 13, 2002 —The Southern California Edison (SCE) Board of Directors has elected Barbara J. Parsky to the additional position of vice president, corporate communications of SCE.  This is in addition to her current position as vice president, corporate communications of Edison International (NYSE: EIX).  Parsky has been and remains responsible for formulating communications strategies, media relations, internal and external communications and advertising for the corporation and for each of its operating companies worldwide: Southern California Edison, Edison Mission Energy and Edison Capital.

Parsky joined Edison International in June 2002.  Prior to joining the company, she had her own corporate consulting business, where she counseled executive management on a variety of industry issues, brand reputation, crisis programs and opinion leadership programs.  Prior to her consulting business, she was partner and Los Angeles general manager of Porter Novelli public relations.

Parsky also had a long professional association with the General Electric Company.  Throughout her 20-year career there, she held several management positions in marketing and strategic communications.  In one of these positions, as manager of corporate advertising, she directed GE’s brand image program for the “We Bring Good Things to Life” national advertising, public relations and promotion programs.

Parsky holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida.
