Gov. Gray Davis gave a short speech Thursday on the California energy crisis. The following response to the Governor's comments is from Stephen E. Frank, chairman, president and CEO of Southern California Edison.

ROSEMEAD, Calif., April 5, 2001--The Governor tonight again affirmed his commitment to maintain financially healthy utilities in California. After many months of this crisis, there is very little remaining time for effective action.

We will look to what actions follow the Governor's words tonight.
