The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) today expanded the scope of evidence it will consider as it determines whether to order independent power producers to refund a portion of the charges California utilities and their customers were required to pay during the state's energy crisis. In response, SCE Chairman & CEO Alan Fohrer issued the following statement.
ROSEMEAD, Calif., Nov. 20 2002-We are pleased that FERC has authorized SCE and other California parties to conduct investigations, obtain information from electric market participants, and add evidence of market manipulation to the record in the refund proceeding.
