ROSEMEAD, Calif., Sept. 12, 2000-Southern California Edison will offer qualifying customers a 15-percent discount on their monthly SCE electric bill. Interested persons can learn more during a one-day "CARE" (California Alternate Rates for Energy) enrollment workshop on Saturday, Sept. 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Rosemead Community Center, 3936 Muscatel Ave. (at Valley Boulevard) in Rosemead.
Program eligibility is based on family size and income: for one- or two-person household, a maximum annual household income of $18,200; for a three-person household, $21,500; for a four-person household, $25,800; and $30,100 for a five-person household. If you meet these qualifications, bring your SCE electric bill to the workshop to sign up.
SCE customer service representatives, including those who speak Spanish, Chinese, and Vietnamese, will be available to answer questions.
