ROSEMEAD, Calif., Dec. 8, 2005—In keeping with the spirit of giving during the holiday season, Edison International today announced that the company’s employees for the fifth straight year had set a record for giving, donating almost $4.4 million in 2005 to communities, agencies and the needy.

The almost $4.4 million is a 14% increase over the 2004 total.  More than 7,500 Edison International employees participated in the company’s 2005 giving campaign, which benefited more than 3,400 nonprofit agencies and charities.

“I often say that I’m proud of the employees of Edison International, but I’m especially proud this year,” said John E. Bryson, Edison International chairman.   “This year saw many natural calamities, and Edison International employees rose to the challenge of helping those impacted.”

Edison employees also have volunteered more than 255,568 hours so far this year in the various communities where they live and work.  As part of the company’s annual “Follow Your Heart” volunteer effort, employees completed 60 community service projects in almost 40 cities.
