ROSEMEAD, Calif., May 14,2002-Barbara J. Parsky, 55, has been elected Vice President of Corporate Communications for Edison International, it was announced today by John E. Bryson, Chairman, President & CEO.  Parsky brings 32 years of experience in corporate brand management and strategic business communications to her new post.  She will start on June 1.

Commenting on the announcement, Bryson said, "We are very pleased to have Barbara as part of our management team.  Her distinguished reputation in the corporate area, her breadth of strategic experience and proven leadership skills will be very valuable assets for our company."

As Vice President-Corporate Communications, Parsky will have overall responsibility for formulating the company's communications strategies, media relations, internal and external communications and advertising.

Parsky now has her own corporate consulting business where she counsels executive management on a variety of industry issues, brand reputation, crisis programs and opinion leadership programs.  Prior to her consulting business, Parsky was Partner and Los Angeles General Manager of Porter Novelli public relations.

Parsky also had a long professional association with the General Electric Co.  Throughout her 20-year career there, she held several management positions in marketing and strategic communications.  In one of these positions, as Manager of Corporate Advertising, she directed GE's brand image program for the "We Bring Good Things to Life" national advertising, public relations and promotion programs.

Parsky holds a BA from Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla.
