ROSEMEAD, Calif., Sept. 23, 2003 — The Southern California Edison (SCE) Board of Directors has elected Jodi Collins vice president of Information Technology, promoting her from the role of director of IT Application Services. 

“Jodi’s leadership has proved pivotal in transforming the Application Services organization and delivering value to the company through software systems,” said Mahvash Yazdi, SCE’s senior vice president of business integration, and chief information officer.  “Jodi is a catalyst for necessary change and is an exceptional leader of IT resources.  In her new role, she will help take Information Technology to the next level.”

Collins joined SCE in April 2000 with 28 years of experience in the information technology field including 23 years in management in the insurance, medical, aerospace and manufacturing industries.  Collins has been responsible for implementing large, enterprise-wide systems, consolidating systems for large-scale business mergers, and leading as many as 800 technical professionals behind shared visions and unified objectives.

Since joining SCE, Collins has assumed responsibility for the entire portfolio of business applications at SCE. She received her degree in Business Administration from Redlands University and her MBA from Pepperdine University.

Edison’s Information Technology unit, made up of 1,300 employees, manages 14,500 desktops and laptops, 700 distribution servers, two corporate data centers, five networks, 25,000 phone extensions, 26,000 packet radios, 9,000 pagers, plus 1,520 miles of fiber and 5,000 miles of microwave, 800 applications, 39 terabytes of structured data, and print and insertion of 250,000 customer mailings per day.

Collins grew up in Champaign, Illinois, and is currently a resident of Pasadena.
