ROSEMEAD, Calif., Aug. 11, 2005 – Southern California Edison (SCE) is reminding its customers to enroll in the utility’s Level Pay Plan, which allows customers to spread high summer and/or winter bills over an entire year into equal monthly payments.
“The Level Pay Plan makes it easy for our customers to budget for their electricity bill,” said Thomas Walker of SCE’s customer service department.
When a customer enrolls in the Level Pay Plan, SCE calculates the customer’s electricity use over the prior 12 months and determines a dollar amount. The dollar amount is divided by 11 and becomes the Level Pay Plan amount the customer pays over the next 11 months. “On the 12th month, the customer will receive a settlement bill showing either a payment due or a credit to the account based on how much energy was actually used during the year,” Walker added.
Two other payment options, Direct Payment and Online Payment are also available for customer convenience. “Direct Payment automatically deducts the amount due each month to SCE directly from the customer’s bank account 10 days after the bill is mailed,” said Walker.
“Customers can take advantage of SCE’s Online Payment option by visiting www.sce.com, signing up for “My Account” and then enrolling in the Online Payment program. Paying bills electronically is fast, convenient, and free.”
