ROSEMEAD, Calif., Apr. 24, 2006—Southern California Edison (SCE) has named Mark J. Anderson as Federal Affairs Manager. Based in the company’s Washington, D.C. office, Anderson will focus on energy and environmental issues, including nuclear power.
“Mark combines significant experience on Capitol Hill with in-depth knowledge of energy issues and the State of California,” said Polly Gault, senior vice president of public affairs for SCE and Edison International. “We are very pleased that he will be part of our team.”
Prior to joining SCE, Anderson was the senior policy advisor for House Majority Whip Roy Blunt (R-MO), where he was responsible for all energy, environment, agriculture, telecommunication and western issues. Anderson also was the legislative director for Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), responsible for the day-to-day management of the congressman’s legislative staff as well as specializing in telecom and energy industry issues.
Anderson previously worked as the legislative director for Rep. Lee Terry (R-NE). He began his career on Capitol Hill as the legislative assistant for Rep. Frank Cremeans (R-OH).
Before working on Capitol Hill, Anderson spent eight years in the private sector as a Class A PGA Golf professional in both Ohio and Virginia. He graduated from the University of Dayton with a degree in history.
