ROSEMEAD, Calif., April 29, 2004—Southern California Edison (SCE) is offering the “Friendly Reminder Notification” program to assist friends or relatives of customers who have trouble remembering to pay their bills.

“The Friendly Reminder Notification program alerts a designated third party such as a relative, friend, clergyman or public agency to a non-payment problem before it becomes necessary to disconnect their service,” said Suzanne Middelburg, SCE manager of consumer affairs.

The program is free and the third party is not responsible for bill payment.  Both the customer and third party must sign an authorization to participate.  For more information, or to request an application, please call (800) 684-8123 or visit www.sce.com.
