ROSEMEAD, Calif., June 20, 2002 - Southern California Edison (SCE) has posted 124 energy conservation and efficiency ideas on its Web site, www.sce.com, which may help residential customers obtain the instant 20% bill rebate available through the 20/20 Rebate Program this summer.

"Even though state officials predict that California will have adequate power supplies this summer we encourage customers to participate in the 20/20 program," said Pam Bass, SCE's senior vice president of customer service.  "As our consumer information campaign notes, saving energy saves money on your bill and increases available power reserves as we move into the hot summer months.  We want to show our customers how to achieve both."

The state's 20/20 program runs from July to October and provides residential customers with an instant 20% rebate on any bill that reflects a 20% reduction in energy use on a daily basis when compared to the same month in 2000.  When SCE calculates customer bills for electricity used during each of the four months, the rebate will automatically be applied where appropriate.  No enrollment is required.

Last year, one-third of SCE's residential customers qualified for 20/20 rebates equaling $61 million.

Among the 124 conservation ideas posted on www.sce.com are a free online home energy audit and eight home energy efficiency cash rebates.  These and other practical suggestions can be found under hyperlinks such as "Save Energy & Money," "For Your Home," "Governor Davis' 20/20 Rebate," and "Free Online Home Energy Survey."

Customers can call (800) 799-4209 for additional information about the 20/20 program.
