ROSEMEAD, Calif., Dec. 11, 2003 — The Edison International (EIX) Board of Directors has elected Frederick J. Grigsby, Jr. to the additional position of vice president, human resources of EIX.  As such, he will provide oversight to human resources activities covering the more than 15,000 employees of EIX.

He will retain his current position as vice president, human resources for Southern California Edison (SCE) and continue his oversight of all SCE human resources functions, including staffing, total compensation, employee development, client services, benefits administration and labor relations on behalf of more than 12,000 SCE employees some of whom are represented by unions.

Grigsby joined SCE on July 1, 2001.

Prior to joining Edison, he was senior vice president of human resources at the Fluor Corporation, an engineering and construction company, where he was responsible for worldwide human resources strategy, development and implementation. Prior to his position at Fluor, he served as vice president of human resources for the Thermo King Corporation, then a subsidiary of Westinghouse Electric.

Grigsby is a member of the board of directors of the Orange County United Way and the Boys and Girls Club of Laguna Beach and is an active member of the Executive Leadership Council, a national professional organization based in Washington, D.C. He has also held positions on the board of directors of the council and its foundation.
Grigsby earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration at Central State University in Ohio and completed the executive program at the Colgate Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia.
